            CUHK Dancing Academy<\/strong><\/p>\n

            One-Year Dancing Course<\/strong><\/p>\n

            Applicant should have some movie or theatre dance experience prior to admission.<\/span> In order to be accepted, you should be passionate and well familiarise with the industry.<\/p>\n

             <\/p>\n

            Term 1<\/em>: Major studies include: ballet, Chinese dance and contemporary dance. Contextual studies include: dance science, dance technology, dance perspectives and dance education. Students will dance in front of classmates at the end of the semester.<\/span><\/p>\n

             <\/p>\n

            Term 2<\/em>: All major studies continue from term 1. There is an internal performance of a self-selected topic to access all students study progress. After initial screening, all roles and characters will be assigned by the Director of Study. Another dancing performance will be held in front of invited audiences including professional dancers.<\/span><\/p>\n

             <\/p>\n

            Term 3<\/em>: Major studies continue with in-depth exposure to dancing technique and body conditioning. You are encouraged to foster your authentic style. You will be guided to analyse and critically reflect on all practices. An opportunity to dance a short film recorded will be given in the help of professional film-making body.<\/span><\/p>\n

            How to Apply<\/strong><\/p>\n

            There are no HKDSE or public examination results are required to submit. Entry to CUHK Dancing Academy is by audition only.<\/p>\n

             <\/p>\n

            Application forms that are not accompanied by the application fee receipt will not be processed. We will email you with a date for your audition once we have received your application form and fee.<\/p>\n

             <\/p>\n

            In your first interview, you will need to prepare two ballet performances, lasting around 10 minutes.<\/span> You are required to wear any tight dancing clothes and wear no accessories.<\/p>\n

             <\/p>\n

            For overseas applicants, you can submit your first interview via Skype, WeChat or our website link. After you have passed the first audition, you will be required to attend further auditions at CUHK Dance Academy. The CUHK Dance Academy will provide overseas candidates a free shuttle bus service from Central CUHK to audition location.<\/span> Advanced registration is necessary.<\/p>\n
